Observations from the President

The great football coach Vince Lombardi once said, "Success is not a sometime thing - it is an all-the-time thing. In other words, you don't do what is right once in a while, but all the time. Success is a habit, just like winning is a habit."

As I shared with you in the last issue of Vision, the Briad Group in 1998 had its most successful year to date, and we're on track to have an even better 1999. Why? Because we see success as an all-the-time thing; a habit that must be pursued tirelessly. In other words, we are committed to delivering the promise every day. What is that promise? For me it comes down to taking care of our guests. Some call it customer service. But I want to stretch beyond that; to go the extra mile and work toward customer satisfaction. For me, achieving this is the equivalent of preparing for a football game every day instead of once a week. Every day, all of our players have to be on the field. Every day, our general managers must call and execute strategies that make our success a habit. [Continued]

Bravo

With many original employees on hand (one is featured in the B-Line column above), Briad's first TGI Friday's in Old Bridge, NJ marked its 5th anniversary in October, 1998!

Bravo to everyone who has contributed to the continued success of this flagship location!

Cheers also to Briad's one and only Roy Rogers which turned 10 on September 2, 1998. One employee in this North Brunswick store, Debbie Jackson, has come in every day that she's been scheduled to work and never called off sick since starting on September 24, 1988! Briad was only two units strong when this single mom of boys now 12 and 14 joined the company. Today she's a supervisor, so you could say that we've grown together. Bravo Debbie Jackson!
